With just 300 units planned, the 2026 Super Snake marks the longest-running Shelby Mustang model in history

- Based on S650 Mustang, Super Snake offers up to 830 hp.
- Lightweight parts and aero upgrades sharpen performance.
- Limited to 300 units, starting at $175,885 with warranty.
Shelby just announced its flagship Super Snake is back, and it’s available with 830 ponies at the flywheel. The famous brand will build 300 examples at most, and pricing starts at a cool $175,885. That figure includes the base Ford Mustang itself, which isn’t always the case with tuner specials like this, and it comes with a full factory-backed 3-year/36,000-mile warranty.
For those keeping tabs, that’s well over twice the cost of the priciest standard Mustang, the 500 hp Dark Horse Premium at $69,075, but less than half the cost of the slightly less powerful 815 hp Mustang GTD, which starts at $327,960 before options.

Interested buyers can decide between a drop top or a hard top and a manual or automatic transmission. They also have the option to get it with or without a supercharger. Those who decline the blower will get just 480 horsepower, but they’ll still retain plenty of other benefits.
That includes lighter body panels made of aluminum and carbon fiber, along with magnesium wheels. Shelby added venting to improve cooling, new aerodynamic bits for more downforce, and tuned the suspension to take full advantage of the other changes.
The cabin gets upgrades as well, but they’re more cosmetic than anything. They include embroidered floor mats, Super Snake door sill plates, a serialized dash plaque that matches one on the engine, and even a Shelby shifter ball for those who go with the manual transmission.
Those details matter to hardcore Shelby fans as they call back to the rich history of the brand. Each vehicle is documented in the official Shelby Registry.
Gary Patterson, President of Shelby American, highlighted the changes that have defined the Super Snake and its position in the lineup. “Over the years, the Shelby Super Snake has evolved but kept its fierce competitive personality,” he said. “Every aspect of the vehicle is modified and upgraded. The Shelby Super Snake has become our flagship car, as well as the longest-running model based on the Ford Mustang in our history.”
The muscle car will make its official debut at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona later this month.
