Gets more aggressive front and rear bumpers, Formula E-inspired graphics, decals, and more

The BE 6 Formula E Edition has been showcased in four colours – Tango Red, Stealth Black, Firestorm Orange and Everest White, which are available with the standard BE 6 as well. However, it features a few design changes that set it apart. The front and rear get new, more aggressive-looking bumpers with a faux bash plate finished in silver. Other elements unique to this special edition are circular headlights, contrasting grey and black body cladding that runs from the front to the rear bumpers, and decals on the front quarter panels and fixed glass roof. The FE3 variant also gets exterior puddle lamps.

The roof and bonnet also sport the brand’s Formula E-inspired 12-stripe graphic, representing the 12 years that the team has competed in the EV racing championship. While the BE 6 Formula E’s lower-spec FE2 variant has the same 19-inch wheels as the standard model, the FE3 gets 20-inch alloys. The special edition’s rear also differs slightly from the standard EV, as the LED tail-lights do not stretch downwards in the direction of the bumpers, and there’s a new Formula E badge next to the BE 6 one.

The BE 6 Formula E’s interior layout is identical to that of the standard EV, from the squarish 2-spoke steering wheel and the ‘halo loop’ separating the driver and the front passenger to the twin 12.3-inch screens for the touchscreen infotainment system and digital driver’s display.

However, the Formula E Edition adds a Firestorm Orange theme (black and orange) to the cabin, an FIA X Formula E Edition plaque, Formula E logos on the dashboard and seats, FIA branding on seat belts, and other motorsport-related highlights and trimmings. Mahindra has also introduced Formula E-inspired start-up animations and synthesised engine sounds.

In terms of features, the BE 6 Formula E gets everything seen on the top-spec Pack Three variant, including two wireless charging pads, a cooled armrest console, a 360-degree camera, ADAS tech, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ambient lighting and a Harman Kardon audio system. The FE3 variant also adds adaptive suspension to the list.
