Euro 1987 Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV for sale on BaT Auctions – ending September 4 (Lot #208,060)

This 1987 Lamborghini Countach is one of approximately 610 examples of the 5000 Quattrovalvole variant produced between 1985 and 1988. Chassis HLA12096 was sold new through Auto Kremer of Bonn, Germany, in January 1987 and remained in Europe until October 2021, when it was imported to the US. Now showing 24k kilometers (~15k miles), the car is finished in Rosso Siviglia over Nero leather and powered by a 5.2-liter quad-cam V12 equipped with six Weber downdraft carburetors. Gear changes are through a five-speed manual transmission linked with a limited-slip differential, and the coupe features pop-up headlights, scissor doors, and 15″ Ruote OZ wheels. Inside, bucket seats are accompanied by a Raid steering wheel and a gated shifter along with air conditioning and an Alpine stereo. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2025, this Countach 5000 QV is now offered by the selling dealer in California with a Dichiarazione di Conformità, manufacturer’s literature, a binder of records, a tool kit, and a clean Montana title.

Introduced as a prototype in 1971, the Countach was designed by Marcello Gandini at Bertone with angular wedge-shaped styling and scissor doors. The car features a tubular steel space frame under aluminum bodywork that incorporates NACA ducts aft of the doors and air intakes above the rear quarters.

The 5000 QV model debuted in 1985 and utilized Kevlar front and rear deck lids. This example is finished in Rosso Siviglia and features European-specification bumpers as well as pop-up headlights, Carello fog lights, Vitaloni side mirrors, and ANSA-branded exhaust finishers.

Silver-finished 15″ Ruote OZ wheels are mounted with Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires measuring 225/50/15 up front and 345/35 out back. The cockpit features bucket seats upholstered in Nero leather with red piping along with a matching center console and door panels. Interior appointments include an Alpine AM/FM cassette stereo along with air conditioning and hand crank windows.

The leather-wrapped Raid steering wheel is paired with a dogleg-pattern gated shifter topped by a Personal knob. Jaeger instrumentation consists of a 320-km/h speedometer and a tachometer with a 7,500-rpm redline along with gauges for battery voltage, oil temperature, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 24k kilometers (~15k miles).

The Bizzarrini-designed 5.2-liter V12 features a 60° cylinder bank angle, four valves per cylinder, and six Weber 44 DCNF downdraft carburetors. Output was factory rated at 448 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, the former of which is mounted in the middle of the car, ahead of the engine.

A three-ring binder of records will accompany the car along with a Dichiarazione di Conformità, manufacturer’s literature, and a tool kit.

The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage from its first entry in January 2022.

The vehicle has not been inspected by the California Bureau of Automotive Repair or Air Resources Board.
